Who We Are

Compassionate, local support for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in Citrus County.

Citrus Aid is a non-profit `501(c)(3)` organization dedicated to improving quality of life through practical assistance, emotional support, and community-based care.

Where It All Began

A foundation built by people who saw what was missing.

Founded in 2013, Citrus Aid is a completely volunteer-based foundation. In 2012, cancer volunteers and members of the Citrus County community recognized a significant gap in quality-of-life services and financial support for patients undergoing treatment locally.

Long treatment periods often force patients to exhaust income, savings, and family support. After meetings with community leaders, survivors, and volunteers, Citrus Aid launched a range of financial, emotional, and referral services to help meet those needs.

Seeing The Unmet Need

Financial hardship can disrupt care, even for insured patients.

Many people understand the burden faced by those without health insurance. But even patients with coverage can quickly run out of resources, creating the risk that they may not be able to continue therapy as planned.

Citrus Aid goes beyond other local, regional, and national resources to help fill that gap for people in need.

We Are The Citrus Aid Cancer Foundation

Every step starts with a conversation.

We begin by talking with each patient, listening carefully, understanding their needs, and shaping support accordingly when help is needed.
